Subject:peeps be tripping?
Time:01:29 am
I don't know what peeps are or how you young people mean the word "tripping" when you say it.

But I've filed about half of the paperwork I need to for my business and we have the most basic form of a website up.  Really it's just a link back to our myspace profile BUT...if you haven't added us yet, you should.  I am gonna try to blog weekly about what's going on, giving updates and whatnot.  I'll post here and there when Drunkfish finally goes up for sale, of course, but for now the goal is: November 1st - Drunkfish goes off to printers and all paperwork is filed, December 1st - website goes up and Drunkfish is on sale.

Should be a fun next couple of months!  I am enjoying trying to be a business man.  I opened Enchanted Beard Press' bank account yesterday!!!

Yo livejournalers,

Are you a segment of the population that also uses Myspace?  If so, good news!  If not, change!

Enchanted Beard Press has a site on myspace now: http://www.myspace.com/enchantedbeardpress.  You can visit me everyday!  Add me to your friends list and make a bunch of fake posts about how great all the games we have never made are.  It'll start some crazy internet buzz and sooner or later we'll be selling out of a game we don't have made yet!  It'll be so awesome!!

In case you were wondering, all the time that I should spend job searching, I spend filing forms to get Enchanted Beard Press off the ground.  I am the best small business owner of all time!

I will be posting there and here when the website goes up and when Drunkfish goes on sale just to keep you all in the loooooop.

<3,
Benjamin

Subject:Another entry about Drunkfish.
Time:12:04 am
Yo broz!

So Drunkfish is finally in the beginning phases of production and will hopefully be off to printers by the end of next month.  If that's going to happen though, I need your help!  How can you help, you ask?  Simple!  If you've ever offered me advice on the game, played it with me, or helped me make absolutely anything for it - let me know.  I'll credit you as a playtester in the rule pamphlet or special thanks if that's more appropriate.  I remember a lot of people who've helped out but I want to make sure that everyone who deserves credit gets it so please speak up!

Also, what do you think of Enchanted Beard Press as the name of a game publishing company?  Cause I need a name for this biz.

Thanks,
Benjamin

Just, in your mind, remember it.

Just remember every blessed moment we've had throughout the years with that story.

Now, please, somebody tell me they've still got it in a word doc and send it to me.

Subject:Super Tuesday
Time:01:22 am
Super Tuesday drove me completely insane.

I have spent the last five or six hours constantly refreshing CNN and BarackObama.com and talking about absolutely nothing else.

During the 2004 election I thought about writing a mass letter to send to my family to ask them to vote Democrat.  I didn't in the end because it felt preachy and there is the ever-present taboo about talking about politics.  Of course, then when the election was said and done and I was completely devastated, I couldn't believe that I had taken every opportunity possible to engage the people I loved in honest dialogue about beliefs that were so important to me.  So tonight I stayed up late listening to the "Yes, We Can" song and I wrote my immediate family a letter telling them why I was voting for Barack Obama in the primaries and why I hoped they would too.

I think that a week before March 4th, which is when Ohio has it's primaries, I will modify the e-mail a bit and send it out to the rest of my family.

It's time to start acting like it when something is really important.  And this is really important to me.

I got some incredibly positive feedback on Drunkfish tonight that made me really excited about it again.

I got some incredibly rum heavy eggnog in my stomach tonight that made me feel warm and fuzzy and lonely.

My new book is, "the Michael Eric Dyson Reader".

As it turns out, even in California, fall can be really hard to deal with.

Pretend I took this space to write about how much I fucking miss all my friends from Bloomington and how I regret every single instant that I didn't make the most of my time there.

Sometimes I  forget how amazing the song, "Heart of a Dragon" by Dragonforce is.

And then I listen to it and my heart and brain instantly fuse into one molten organ.

A link to the song on youtube for ya'll to enjoy.

Here is a post to catch you up:

I went to Comic Con a couple weeks ago and it was awesome.  I did much nerding, got myself some decor for my bedroom and now I am living pretty well.  Between that weekend and two weekends before it when Hilary came we got a bunch of furniture for my room, it is looking like an actual place where someone lives.  It is good to get to that point.

The other relevant thing is church.  I went to the First Unitarian Church in south Oakland last Sunday and have at least the next three Sundays off and plan to continue going.  I really enjoyed it and it's something I really want in my life.  I need the community and I need the set aside time of reflection on my moral compass and life direction.

I have a plan.

Subject:the Fountain is a rip off of Troll 2

Tonight I watched, "the Fountain" and the entirety of the drama of the story was completely lost on me when the Conquistador drank the sap of the tree and all I could think about was, "Troll 2".

I got a raise and a promotion today!

Yes!!

It's not enough to convince me to stay but it's enough to afford me a bit more luxury while I look for something better.  I'm also starting to make some friends from work, which is also nice...no one I hang out with or anything, but people I have running jokes with and whatnot.  It's pretty nice.  I am hoping they ax my cafe supervisor soon so I can take over his job.  I could do it better.

Current goal: find and obtain a bigger bed.

Immediate goal: take a shower and play pokemon online with Richard.

I did it!

So I feel like a nerd for not only having a personal blog but now for creating a hobby blog as well but...wtfe, you know?  I think it's something that'll keep me on task and hopefully some of my friends can use it to keep themselves up with their pet projects as well.  So you should join it if you have any kind of personal aspiration or hobby cause I bet we'd all love to hear about it.

Let's go do.

Subject:I bought Cooking Mama for Wii but that's not what this entry is about.
Time:04:40 pm
I thought about titling this entry, "It's my life" but then I realized I'd be making a reference to Bon Jovi and then I thought about how much I don't like him and especially not his name.

California.  Right?  It's a nice place to live.  I live just outside of Emeryville, literally two houses into Oakland.  Lots of people from SF and Berkeley think Oakland is scary but so far I don't really have a reason to think so.  Simon says he hears gunshots sometimes at night but I haven't yet.  Maybe when that happens I'll start finding Oakland scary.  For now I stick to my street and the outskirts and just inside Emeryville and it's quite nice.  I live just a few blocks away from Pixar.

I work at Borders, for now.  I ride a bike there.  It's a shitty bike but it's kind of fun to be riding one.  It makes me feel better about my weight.  I've already been made a team leader (a title that didn't exist at the last Borders I worked at).  Basically all that means is that I can be rude to my co-workers and the cafe manager can make me do extra work without giving me a raise.  Speaking of, I'm making $8/hour.  That would be fantastic if I were living in Bloomington, but I'm not.  Hopefully I get a job at the BUiLD House.  I'll be making twice as much there.  Also, the SBC cafe in this Borders is really not very clean at all.

The best part about California so far is the food.  We live a few blocks away from a pizza co-op that makes the fucking most delicious pizzas I have ever tasted.  They only make one kind of pizza everyday but it is so good that I don't mind.  A couple days ago I had some pizza with lemon thyme on it.  Delicious!!  There is also a Public Market connected to the Borders I work at that has all sorts of international food: Greek, British, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Jamaican, Mexican, and wherever philly cheese steaks come from.  I love it.  I'm going to invest in bike gear this weekend to ensure that I keep riding so I don't get chubbier than I already am with all this delicious food (plus Simon has been keeping the fridge well stocked with beer so I've been drinking it instead of water when I'm thirsty).

I can't tell you how nice it is to live in a place with palm trees.

You should make plans to come visit soon!

Subject:My heart is a mix CD.
Time:01:11 pm
A little while ago I posted with an idea of starting a livejournal community for writing short stories.  Since that didn't seem to interest enough people to really warrant making it, I'm curious as to whether people would be interested in a more general community to display creative projects.  My idea is that it would be a place where we could post about projects in progress or completed for comments and praise (constructive criticism I think would be best if only given when it was asked for).  It seems like that would have a lot broader appeal since then you could post stories, articles, games, crafts, bikes, music, scripts, or whatever else you've been working on.

I start my new life on Thursday and I haven't even started to pack!  Aaayeeee!

Subject:Troll 2 News
Time:11:52 am

"Troll 2" is currently on tour with several members of the original cast.  Unfortunately, San Francisco was one of their first stopping dates, so I missed them by two weeks.  Fortunately, Simon went, and he got me a t-shirt that says, "You can't piss on hospitality!" and it was signed by Mr. Waits himself.  I'm going to wear it once when I get there, get a bunch of pictures taken in it, and then most likely frame it.

Here is a Q&A with the cast members in NYC for those of you interested.
